The awakening of a distant memory
Wines from Pazo de La Cuesta
The soul of the great wines of El Pazo is found in its grapes: Godello, Treixadura, Albariño, Loureira, Garnacha Tintorera, Brancellao, Sousón, Merenzao and Caino. These are the native varieties Pazo de la Cuesta uses to make its white and red wines in the classic Burgundy and Bordeaux styles.
In 1608, Captain Álvaro de Losada y Somoza inherited the Casa Grande de La Cuesta from his grandfather. It was located alongside a chapel, wine cellars, an orchard, gardens, and the vineyards that extended along the slope of the mountain towards the Sil River.
Our love for this land has been transmitted from generation to generation. We continue to keep this passion alive today as we embrace the challenge of renovating the winery and recovering the historic vineyard, part of the living heritage of Galicia.
With the restoration of Pazo de La Cuesta now complete, we open our doors to offer you a unique experience. We invite you to discover one of the most emblematic jewels of Galicia’s historical and natural heritage. Come and enjoy a privileged setting, surrounded by vineyards and olive trees, where you can immerse yourself in the history, architecture, and flavors of our land, with guided tours of our 15th-century cellars and tastings of exclusive wines. Don’t miss the opportunity to experience an unforgettable visit in the heart of the Sil!
